Born a long time ago in Scarborough, N Yorkshire..Pirate radio in the 60's especially Radio 270 which was moored off Scarborough fired a passion and interest in radio..Within the confines of my bedroom as a 14 year old on a reel2reel Grundig tape recorder I developed the Chris Curry and occasionally Steve Ravaczech shows! John Peel and Jimmy Savile were diametrically opposed early radio influences! 3 years on Radio Warwick while at university doing Breakfast and Crazy Chris shows-in the days when I probably was crazy! I also remember a 13 hour show! I also was university host/DJ for many big events getting to meet many musicians..Radio largely forgotten about during 32 year teaching career teaching History to A Level. Hosted the Tea Time Show on Southport Community Radio interviewing such luminaries as John Pugh MP and Berni Flint. Now trying to stay awake on Friday 2am-6am show on the mighty Dune FM.
Hull City and Yorkshire cricket supporter, but having lived in Southport since 1983 think of Southport very much as my home. Daughter Natalie and grandkids Jake and Abbie keep me busy! Walk every weekend with Cosmic Jan and still play cricket for Ormskirk Occasionals. Mainly famous for attending the Isle of Wight festival in 1970 and seeing Hendrix, Doors etc back in my hippy days !!
